Mediation through Amazon

by Seller_kFqn4WvdxnEjS

Hey, just wondering why UK sellers have the ability to mediate situations through Amazon with an unbiased third party - but US sellers can't? This is an amazing tool that I think every seller should have if needed.

Wow, congratulations UK! WHO pays this third party?

More details please. Is this mediation as an alternative to pursuing a legal case?

In the U.S., sometimes the mediators are not as "unbiased" as people assume, particularly if the vendor is allowed to choose the mediator. They will choose mediators with a corporate-friendly track record.

Without researching everything, my best guess is that it was a settlement forced on Amazon by the EU at some time (before Brexit).

There are a LOT of things that the EU has done that forced Amazon to change (slightly) their policies.

Did you ever wonder why (and when) the requirement that your Amazon selling price had to be the lowest that you offered anyplace?

That was removed because of a big lawsuit by the EU and the eventual removal in the US was NEVER announced. The policy/rule just magically 'disappeared'!

Their regulators are a lot more aggressive than they are in the US.
