Amazon doesn't care!
When UPS delivers a shipment late, my seller account is penalized with a lower shipping performance rating, even though the delay is outside of my control. even dough i have 5-8 days

Yes, your shipping performance is compiled from handling, transit and delivery time. You control these through your own handling systems and the shipping carrier and delivery time you choose.

FYI the idea that Amazon doesnt care is ridiculous. Amazon cares about Amazon and everything else is secondary. This is true of every business and to think otherswise is nieve'. Owners/Shareholders first, customers second, vendors third.....Know your role

We use Amazon Buy Shipping for the protection it offers for On Time Delivery and Valid tracking ratings.
ODR is a bit more complicated as it is a broad measurement of the sellers ability to provide a good customer experiance and has many metric inputs.
Best to keep ODR at 0%

Yes I agree and that is exeactly what we do for our FBM listings. FBA has risks too, any grey market sourcing can create big problems for FBA inventory

Gets worse if the customers files a complaint of late shipment and gets the product for free. Amazon shouldn't have a say when FBM orders get delivered as long as it gets shipped out by a certain date.
