Read onlyUSPS apparently is having a technical issue, we use Amazon Buy It Now Shipping program, we created a label on the Feb 24th and shipped out item to customer, customer emails me next morning wanting to know why the package tracking showing it was delivered Dec 17th 2024 in Tampa FL when the customer is in IA, I called and Talked with USPS select business support staff and they are aware of an issue with Amazon buy shipping now program and USPS that has allowed tracking numbers to recycle in too short of a time. USPS numbers are 22 digits that is a Quadrillion, that is 1000 Trillion tracking number, USPS claims average of 4.7 billion packages tracking a year, if you divide that out that is 200,000 time out of a Quadrillion, so there should never be a case of recycled tracking numbers.
This is causing a huge issue with Amazon customers, I have not researched more of our shipped orders for that date yet but if USPS is saying it is a technical error, I am sure there will be more pop up and some very uspet customers, Question is how is Amazon going to handle this for one time delivery and claims by customer that item was not delivered or INR?
This could cause serious hard to sellers health.
MODS: We are having the same issue. We submitted case 17243715151 which was not answered satisfactorily. We need a resolution for our customer.
