    First time listing-Fashion Jewelry Misclassified as Fine Jewelry

    Hi friends,

    This was my first time listing on Amazon, and one item was mistakenly categorized as Fine Jewelry instead of Fashion Jewelry. Once identified, I corrected the category.

    All ASINs are handcrafted Fashion Jewelry, made from sourced jade and crystal beads. They do not claim precious metals or Fine Jewelry classification. Each piece is a unique handmade design and does not meet Fine Jewelry requirements or lab‑testing criteria.

    2. Find and click on the specific jewelry listing you want to update
    3. Click Edit on the listing details
    4. Look for the new jewelry_material_categorization field in the product details section
    5. Select "Fashion" for your handcrafted jade and crystal bead jewelry
    6. Save your changes

    Hi, did you get this sorted? This happened to me too! Long story short I had the product returned to me and created new listing as I was unable to edit once the listing was created!

    I went through weeks of back and forth with Seller Central trying to fix it and ultimately had to have my inventory sent back, create a brand new listing under Fashion Jewelry, and reship everything. Not fun — but it sounds like you already did the hard part by catching it and correcting the category yourself, so you're ahead of where I was! 😅

    Jade and crystal bead jewelry is absolutely Fashion Jewelry on Amazon — that's the right home for it. The good news is that doesn't limit how you tell your story. You can highlight the handmade craftsmanship, the sourced materials, and the uniqueness of each piece right in your listing copy, photos, and A+ content. Customers who appreciate that will find you. Amazon is just a different beast when it comes to categories — work within their rules and let your branding do the rest. Good luck! ✨
