It’s not uncommon for me to ship items from a single order in multiple shipments (partial shipments). Sometimes these shipments occur on different days depending on when the item is ready. The orders always get shipped complete before Ship By date.
The problem I keep running into is that even though an order is partially shipped, Amazon displays to the customer that the order has been COMPLETED even though it obviously has not yet.
Many times the customers get panicked and send me a message wanting to know why they didn’t get all their items.
My question is WHY does Amazon allow us to ship orders partially but does not convey this information the the customer?? It is super frustrating and a customer service nightmare.
Before someone says “well just wait and ship everything together”… well that’s not always possible because we have multiple warehouses and that obviously requires multiple shipments.
Any advice? Amazon should really fix this!!
Don’t worry about what you see on your end.,
Ship the order(s) with correct tracking (when multiple locations, notate it) and all will be good.
Super easy
Just be sure all are sent with tracking within the “ship to” date and “delivery” date is within the window.
Do you buy much on Amazon? I do.
The communication from Amazon to buyer is not to my liking. At all.
Amazon tells the buyer almost nothing. I have no idea what product the message references. Amazon refers only to their order number (I don’t refer to that number ever as a seller, and refer to it as a buyer only because I am more or less forced to). I can then add a note in the email subject so my inbox makes more sense.
Other then the subject header, almost no information. The email is full of stuff, but it’s all intended to sell me other things.
That’s not going to change.
Your only recourse is to send a message yourself just before sending off the first shipment. That message may or may not be read.
Seems like a simple solution…ship complete orders. Unless you are drop-shipping.
Thanks everyone, pretty much exactly the responses I expected from this forum.
