I just received a message from Amazon US stating that my account is at the risk of deactivation and that the tax verification needs to be re-verified.

Strange request as I’ve been selling on Amazon US since 2022 with the exact same EIN and name credentials; without any glitches. It all worked perfectly well until today.

The error message is as follows:

"Your Name and US Tax Identification Number combination does not appear to be valid as per IRS records. Please make the necessary corrections by retaking the interview."

Any insights into what may have suddenly triggered this notice? I’m trying to investigate and conduct my own research but I’m reaching a dead end. Obviously, I wish to do everything under my control to avoid account deactivation so I've started a case (Case ID: 17199396921) and waiting for Amazon's response.

Additional information. My firm is a foreign owned single member LLC registered in Delaware. I am not a US citizen. I have an EIN letter (CP 575 G, dated July 2022) in the following format:

COMPANYNAME LLC

FIRSTNAME MIDDLENAME LASTNAME SOLE MBR

RESIDENCE ADDRESS OUTSIDE THE US

To reiterate, my INFORM Act compliance was complete and I never thought the status would change overnight. To make matters worse, I'm expecting a rather large and important FBA shipment to be inbounded within a week, so this sudden notification of "Account Deactivation" is extremely disheartening to say the least.

If you have any experience or insights on how to resolve this, kindly let me know!

I recently established a Limited Liability Corporation (LLC) and sought to update my tax information accordingly. However, despite diligently entering all the necessary details as per the instructions provided by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), I continue to encounter an error. I kindly request your assistance in resolving this matter.

Error:

The Name and Tax ID provided do not match IRS records. Please review your previous inputs and ensure the "Name" line is the correct name associated with the Tax ID provided. You should complete the tax information for the individual or business that will report the income on a U.S. income tax return. If you are completing the tax interview on behalf of a single member LLC, generally the owner’s Name and Tax ID would be provided.

However all the data is correct, I have even tried putting my full name and surname instead of the LLC name and I also get that error.

Does anyone know how to fix it? I opened a case on Amazon but we haven't been able to solve it yet.
