Seller for 15+ years, all of a sudden 100% in deferred transactions
Hi there. I have been a seller on amazon for 17+ years (I don't know how I survived with the daily shady practices), and now I'm in a pickle. I have always been paid out daily with no holds. We all got that dreaded email saying 03/05 or 03/12, amazon is converting all the accounts to 7 day edd. Fine, at least amazon gave us the courtesy of a few months' notice so we can properly prepare which I thought was nice. But suddenly as of a week ago, 100% of my transactions have gone into deferred. Seller support is 100% useless and keep giving me the same templated nonsense. If amazon changed my account randomly, they did it not only without my permission but not even an email, a performance notification. I can't believe this is legal. Now instead of getting paid daily, I have 40k stuck in the account with the first payout in 3 weeks. This kills my business effective immediately. None of these orders are invoiced orders. This is shady thievery at its finest. I hope someone from Amazon can look at this and help fix this issue.

Not gonna change. This is the new normal. Amazon does what it wants. Until a large number of sellers move on or some lawyers get a hold of this, it will only continue to get worse for 3P sellers.
For us, basically ALL of our sales here this month are being deferred to January. In the mean time, we are getting whacked all of the fees instantly.

You have to increase your profit margin so that you make the same as before and Amazon is not sitting on as much of your cash. That is the only way out that makes sense. Also there is a penalty for Amazon in it as they will sell less.

18 years plus here, and we went on a 2 month vacation last year, all the while still listing, and they converted our account to these dreaded Deferred transactions stating they are delivery waiting periods to get paid.
We used to be able to get our money every 24 hours after confirming shipment. This is Amazons new scam to hold onto our money even longer.
Its the only 3p selling sight that does this, Ebay does not do this.
These mods are pretty much useless and this is the way payments are on here now.
Its like you get a trickle of money to your account, its absolutely the biggest scam on the internet.
Seen many many changes through the 18 years and this is by far one of the worst.
There is zero reason to hold this money, sometimes its 20 to 30 days from date of shipping.
They have a credit card on file, they are holding this money to use for themselves.
No other reason to hold money on Accounts that have long data of not doing anything wrong.

It is my understanding that they are investing or using our money that they are holding for their own gains.

Amazon made TWO announcements:
1. They're holding sellers money longer and damaging cash flow
2. New seller funding for those in a cash flow crunch - 9% interest & up

Im glad the lack of replies or solutions from amazon shows how shady this company is. A bunch of thieves and scammers

My understanding is that all sellers will now be on the Deferred Payout system, which was implented for most in 2024. In reality, for those sellers who were not on a payout plan such as yours, we were always on a deferred payout, it was just not specified as such. There was a "Reserve" amount, but there was no visibility into what transactions made up that amount, or when it could be withdrawn.
In deferred payout, the standard order (not invoiced) reserve period is 7 days after delivery date.
Fees that are part of a customer order are deferred along with the order payment and are charged when the payment for the transaction is released. All other fees, including FBM shipping, adjustments, etc. are charged on the occurence date. Refunds are occasionally deferred, but you may see it post to your account before the order payment.
The daily amount "available" to withdraw is a rolling mix of released order payments (payments for orders that are past the DD+7) and the daily charges made to your account. Due to the amount of FBM shipping we did in December we had days where the available amount was negative :(

Same with me. My account has been violated by crooks that removed the link between my listing and my selling account. As a result nothing that I sell is there. But a number of copycats emerged. So I lost my sales to this unfair competition
And like you the Amazon support has been totally useless. It is now 6 months since my questions are not addressed. The trick is to pass on my questions to another associate. Or to ask an irrelevant question that is asking you information already given in previous replies, or having me trying to get a screenshot of an AIbot finding that I copied each word but not images.
A perfect loss of time.
