I found some helpful information about barcode sizes in Amazon's help documentation. Under the "Label paper requirements" section at Use Amazon barcodes to track inventory, they specify that barcode labels should be between 1" x 2" and 2" x 3" (you can also use 1" x 3" or 2" x 2").
