Excess Inventory Error For Product?
We recently sold out of stock, and Amazon FBA won't let me ship inventory in with this error:
"This SKU is restricted from shipment creation due to excess inventory. It already has a maximum 3-4 months of supply based on forecasted demand. Remove the item from this shipment or request an exception to send additional units. You can also explore alternative storage through AWD, subject to capacity availability."

Yes, I am also getting this error for a high volume product. It is almost out of stock (about 5 days) and I can't send anymore units. Any help would be great from the moderators. This is not good for our end of season sales.
Please help us with this issue moderators? @Michelle_Amazon, @Christine_Amazon, @Jameson_Amazon.

Thanks you.

We have had the same issue for the past 3 months (Case IDs: 18895146271 and 18830501991 and 18978611031). Each time we have been told to wait 2 more weeks. Amazon doesn't care.
Most recently they didn't even give a date (which would have been incorrect anyways). They just said too much FBA inventory, bye, and they closed the case in a way that we can't even re-open it.

Ah, I’ve run into this before. Basically, Amazon is saying that, based on their forecast, you already have enough stock in their fulfillment centers, even if you’re sold out elsewhere. That’s why it’s blocking your shipment. You have a few options: you can either remove this SKU from the shipment and wait until the forecasted inventory level drops, or request an exception through Seller Central to send in more units. Another route is to explore Alternative Fulfillment Storage (AWD) if there’s capacity available.
It’s annoying, but this usually happens when Amazon’s system predicts slower sales than you expect. In my experience, requesting an exception usually works if you explain your situation clearly.

Hi there @Seller_bMefNsX7UWOxk,
As mentioned by @Seller_Oco9bHGjkLCzO this is a restriction to ensure that the Fulfillment Network has enough for the current forecast. If you think there is a good reason for an exception you can reach out with your reasoning however we cannot guarantee that this will be overturned. Thank you for your understanding.

If inventory sits in an Amazon warehouse for too long, more than 180 days, it is considered excess and Amazon has some weird time frame that they won't let you send after that happens. Once the time frame expires, which some agents might be able to tell you, you can send more or ask for the exemption.
