Seller declined for product

I am going to add the case number here incase Amazon wants to look into this and explain it to me better... As the automated responses are without an explanation, they seem automated to me. I am referring to Case ID 17077970601.

It told me this:

"--You have provided and Unacceptable document type. We are unable to accept retail receipts, online order confirmations, packing slips, sales orders, pro forma invoices, or sales quotes for approval. Provide and invoice from a manufacturer, distributor, or your supplier that shows the itemized list of goods that you bought."

So, I have sent in this many times and it gets this every single time, I am missing something here as the paperwork says INVOICE on it with the correct address and name. So either they do not allow you to sell this product with a Target Invoice for the product or I am simply doing something wrong. This happens to every single one of the items I have purchased and submitted to sell on Amazon. Which is not major items at the moment but it just seems impossible to get un-gated to sell anything on Amazon. I understand why so many get frustrated and just quit, I just need to understand why this happens..

I went to the Amazon University videos as I am still going through them for answers... But the point here is let's say as an example I want to sell "Hey Dude shoes" The video said I needed a Invoice from a manufacturer or distributor, so to me this does not include say "Target, Academy, etc." going to Hey Dude and buying the product is preferred as it is the Brand Manufacturer. If I understood the video correct.

After submitting this Invoice and Pictures of the product it should be approved. Is this correct?

If by "going to Hey Dude" (HEYDUDE) you mean ordering from their website -- then no. That is not what it takes to sell that brand.

Start by contacting the brand -- preferably through snail mail on your letterhead -- asking for written authorization to sell on Amazon. And find out where you should order.

Ordering from their retail website gets you no closer to an authorized source than Target etc.

And BINGO! is called.

Target is a RETAIL store; even if their receipt says "Invoice", it is a RECEIPT.

Your interpretation is correct. Which makes me wonder why you keep submitting a Target receipt.

But as pointed out, you need to make a WHOLESALE purchase, not a retail purchase from HeyDude's store or website. If you are not required to submit your business and tax license info, then it is NOT a wholesale purchase.

On top of that, there are many brands that are okay with you buying from a distributor to sell in your B&M store, but do not want you selling on Amazon. For most of the major brands now, you need written permission FROM THE BRAND explicitly authorizing you to sell on Amazon.

Before you do anything else, spend a couple of weeks reading the forums. Better to learn from the people who lose their accounts than to be one of them.

@Seller_ZrLgykXuDzvX4I have explained this to in your previous thread about board games and monopoly. You cannot circumvent getting a letter of authorization and invoice from the BRAND requirement!!!

You are getting frustrated because you are trying to avoid spending the time to learn everything you need to know in the Amazon University Videos. Save yourself the frustration and possible future account deactivation as well as product and money seizure.

STOP!!! DONT BUY ANYTHING ELSE BEFORE YOU EDUCATE YOURSELF ON HOW AND WHAT YOU CAN SELL ON AMAZON!!! Or you are just going to waste your money!!!

Selling on Amazon is not like selling on Ebay. These are totally different selling platforms.

You cannot just pick a BRANDED product to sell on Amazon without being legally authorized as a distributor with a letter of authorization in hand for that BRAND that authorizes you to sell on Amazon.

Everyone confuses being UNGATED by Amazon with being legally authorized to sell BRANDED products on Amazon. YOU STILL NEED BRAND APPROVAL!

You CANNOT buy a product from a retail source (store, market, online) and expect that you can turn around and sell that product on Amazon.

When you buy retail you are given a RECEIPT not an INVOICE. An INVOICE has specific information that confirms that your product was bought authentically.

One last thing ....If you try to sell ANY BRANDED product on Amazon without a letter of authorization directly from the MANUFACTURER, Amazon will deactivate your selling privileges and you will NEVER and I seriously mean NEVER be allowed to sell anything on Amazon again. And their computers are better than FBI and CIA.

Hi there, CR here. You have received lots of great information and guidance already on this thread from experienced forum members. I only wanted to jump in to provide you with some further links to review if you have not already came across them via Seller University.
