A-z Stats
I thought that I would share my A-z stats here as I have been tracking my claims for more than three years now.
This represents over 25,000 orders.
59 A-z Claims <0.25%
Reasons Filed…
54% Item Not Received
44% Item Not as Described
2% “Other”
Claims/Results
31% Item Not Received, Shipping purchased with Buy-shipping, Amazon Funded without Defending
14% Customer never returned item, case closed
14% Customer kept item, Amazon-funded refund
10% It was my mistake. I refunded.
9% Customer returned item, Amazon refunded (ie. I didn’t refund fast enough)
9% Customer returned item, I refunded.
3% I defended, customer withdrew
3% Case Closed without refund
2% Item Not Received, Shipping purchased with Buy-shipping, Amazon refunded (my funds), I appealed and got my money back
2% Customer said that they returned, no tracking, case closed
2% I didn’t defend on time (doh!)
2% Item Not Received, Shipping purchased outside Amazon, Amazon refunded with my money
2% I refunded, customer opened A-z anyway, case closed
Every single one (100%), I’d say was a fair decision. Only once did Amazon give away my money incorrectly, but they reversed it on appeal.
If you are losing your A-z claims, you probably have one of several problems…
- You did not follow Amazon’s policy to begin with.
- You are not representing your side (unemotionally) with short, clear, bulleted facts.
- You don’t understand Amazon’s policy and think that Amazon decided incorrectly.
If you have an A-z and want me to review your response, send a PM. I’m glad to help.

@ed_yu, thank you so much for putting up your stats like this! There’s so much helpful info here.
This.Is.Awesome.
Are you FBM-only, or both FBM and FBA?

I do not have itemized statistics but ratio 59 claims for each 25000 orders seems around same
