The only solution to the reviews problem is deprecation of the reviews system.
There have always been bogus reviews on Amazon, in the past based on the stupidity or ignorance of the reviewer. Lots of reviewers monetized their their reviews before unscrupulous sellers decided to take advantage of the system.
It was always a dumb idea.

I don’t really buy the whole “we can’t cope with the amounts of fraud” argument. Throw 50 million at the problem, and saturate those degenerates with machine learning, human investigators, press charges, file lawsuits with PUBLIC PR, work with the DOJ to seize funds.
