Use the updated Add Products tool for easier listing creation

You can now access the redesigned Add Products tool to make it faster, simpler, and more intuitive to add products to your catalog.

We’ve added the following features:

  • A new interface that adapts to your screen size and guides you through a clear, step-by-step workflow.
  • A three-panel layout to keep you organized. Track your listing completion progress on the left, your listing inputs in the center, and more complex tasks like variations and pricing rules on the right.
  • A search bar that's available during listing creation so you can search for help topics or access Seller Assistant without leaving the page.
  • Attribute descriptions next to each input field.
  • Bulk edit capabilities that allow you to filter by specific variants and update a single attribute like price, item name, or SKU across all variants at once.

We've also simplified variation management within the tool so you can now create your product variations at the initial listing creation phase, instead of making a parent listing first and then editing each variation individually. You have full control over differentiated values across each product variation too, including customized titles and the complete range of offer attributes like fulfillment channel, not just price and condition.

To use the updated tool, go to Add Products.

To learn more, go to Add one product at a time.

It's not easier and adding products has become much harder with a higher likelihood of making errors.

This is what would make it easier:

- Roll back all the changes made in the last couple months when a new product is being cloned from an existing product.

Why?

- Because a seller could create a 'perfect' product with information and settings to be used as a 'template' for future products to ensure consistency and minimize errors or overlooking a detail.

What has happened the last couple months is when a product is being cloned fewer and fewer attributes carry over to the new listing. Now, not even the brand name or shipping template is cloned.

Now it's more akin to starting from scratch for every product and that (1) takes longer and (2) results in more mistakes.

This is another example of a manager creating "make work" changes to try and show there is a reason for their job but in fact they are just making the selling interface worse.

New products should get a NEW banner on their listing for first say 90 to 120 days. That would help visitors distinguish new products from older more established products and increase CTR. If listing has a unique value proposition it could help the new product gain some traction in sales velocity since it'll have a low number of reviews.

While I understand the importance of continually improving and modernizing the product listing experience, the recent enhancements to the "Add a Product" workflow appear to have been released without sufficient testing.

Before this update, we could create a product listing with 40+ variations in less than 30 minutes. The same process now takes more than three hours.

The new workflow requires sellers to navigate through multiple screens to enter information that was previously managed efficiently from the variation page. In addition, attributes such as neck style are frequently flagged with formatting errors due to apparent coding issues, requiring each variation to be manually corrected. Fields that previously allowed values to be applied across all variations must now be updated individually, creating a significant increase in manual work.

Even after successfully completing every step, there is still a risk that Amazon will automatically re-evaluate the Product Type selected in Step 1 and delete the entire listing, forcing sellers to start the process over from the beginning.

This update has dramatically reduced efficiency, increased the likelihood of errors, and added hours of unnecessary work to what was previously a straightforward process. I strongly encourage the development team to review these issues, thoroughly test the workflow, and restore the functionality that allowed sellers to create variation listings efficiently.
