Read onlyFake reviews are running rampant on Amazon. In just a few days, the number of false reviews has reached more than 600. It has increased from the initial 6 to the current more than 600. Moreover, over 90% of these reviews are not relevant to the product at all. Amazon turns a blind eye to such blatant violations.
The Federal Trade Commission's (FTC) final rule banning fake reviews and testimonials went into effect on October 21, 2024 . Amazon doesn't seem to mind ignoring this new law.
MANY Reports need to be filed if Amazon does not respond. Give them 4 weeks to respond to your report. Then, Report to the FTC
reportfraud.ftc.gov/assistant
file a fraud complaint against Amazon (under "something else") that you reported a violation of law and they have not responded.
This is what's called review harvesting.
All these 'my listing has been hijacked!' posts you see on the forums? This is how they do it - they take older ASINs, change the brand through a spreadsheet update, then merge that ASIN with the ASIN they are harvesting reviews for.
This results in an ASIN that's two weeks old with 3,000 reviews, none of them actually related to the product being sold. And, of course, this ASIN with almost zero sales history is boosted to the top of search results due to all the harvested reviews.
This is a dirty tactic, and any seller who does it should be permanently banned, but Amazon just doesn't care enough to do anything about it.
Exactly, we just found a total new listing with 2000 non relevant reviews.

I have the best luck with takedowns when I report the listing through the page itself claiming parts of the page do not match
