Forcing FBA shipment from East coast to West Coast with minimal splits
We continue to try refreshing every few hours to see if the algorithm will provide a different route for our shipment. We ship from northeast and choose Minimal Split: East , however, Amazon forces the shipment to Washington (3200 miles away) and they also want us to pay the shipment split fee (3x the cost of minimal east).
At this point, we either sit on inventory until the FC's allow us to go east coast, or we go FBM (loss) or we split the shipment (huge loss).
I would consider going with the west coast minimal split, but not if I am also covering the shipment split fee. Makes no sense..
Shipment is 2,000 units (3 pallets) LTL Hazmat.

Unfortunately, Amazon shipments are not split according to what is the cheapest for the seller.
Amazon shipments are split according to what is most beneficial for sales....as well as reducing warehousing costs for Amazon. Its their formula and it can lead to problems for sellers.
