Holiday & Non-Operating Days: Managing Your Delivery Times

Hello sellers! Anyone shipping orders knows that there are several key components to planning ahead. But when it comes to holidays, these steps become especially important. Let’s talk about holidays today.

Seller Central contains a set of predefined public holidays based on location. When estimating shipping date and delivery date, public holidays are not counted as operating days.

💡Remember, At Amazon, Total Delivery Time = Handling Time + Transit Time + any holidays and weekends + additional buffer (to protect delivery promise in case of carrier delivery issues).

Sellers with Professional selling plans may alter these holiday settings.

To view the list of public holidays in Seller Central:

  1. Go to Settings > Shipping Settings.
  2. Click General Shipping Settings.
  3. Click Edit on the Holidays widget.
  4. See a list of predefined public holidays.

On that page, you can choose to select holidays you want to override and count as operating days. Just click the corresponding check boxes and don’t forget to Save your changes. The holidays you have overridden are tagged as Set as Operating Day.

Use the Shipping Settings page in Seller Central to manage your shipping template and handling times. This ensures accurate delivery promises during holidays.
