New DD+7 Deferred Transactions/Outstanding Charges Due To Amazon

Hi,

Can anyone help clarify something for me?

We've been on this new DD+7 since early March, like everyone else. That's fine; funds are apparently being withheld indefinitely (delivery date plus 7 days), I can live with that.

However, I noticed on our payout statement that the 'Outstanding Charges" amount is growing substantially by the day, due to our purchasing shipping thru Amazon's Buy Shipping Program, Amazon commissions for orders, 'other charges', etc.

My assumption was that Amazon would apply the 'deferred' money that they owe to us to settle those outstanding charges, like they always have in the past. Then pay us our portion at some point in the near future.

However, I received an email from Amazon indicating they are charging our card on file to take care of 'outstanding fees' normally paid from monies due to us every two weeks from Amazon (of which they are now holding as deferred transactions).

So what am I missing? It's one thing to not pay us until 7 days after the customer receives the order, decides whether or not to return it, etc. Can't Amazon at least take the fees that we owe to them from each order we ship out of the balance they owe to us??

And if they attempt to charge our card on file and it's declined, will they suspend our account??

Rather than settle the amount due them with the money that they owe to us ...

Can anyone advise me on this? Thanks so much for your time! I understand we are all busy :) working for free?! (Just kidding, of course...) I feel certain that we will be paid...someday ...

There have been other threads on this topic and, although I haven't read them all, I do see on one of them where @NR_Amazonstates:

When funds are reserved through DD+7, they still count towards your account balance even though they are not eligible for disbursement. We'll only charge you in instances when your entire balance, including reserve, results in a negative value.

Here's where that came from

Just search the forums for "DD+7" and you will find this and other discussions on this rabbit-hole of a topic. 🙃

next three weeks my .ss. they have set it up to keep taking our shipping and all the seller fees from tomorrows sales out of the available balance that has cleared. now with 3 weeks before any orders meet the dd+7 timeline all the shipping and fees will add up a negative balance that they will charge our credit cards and then the 2 week cycle starts again w2ith about 15 to 20 percent of our sales revenue for two weeks actually being paid. Its the biggest robbery to small business ever. think about it as funds become available are balance shrinks paying for tomorrows shipping and fees. the cycle just keeps everyone seeing a big reserve that will never become available until you sell nothing for a month straight

Because I did not realize they were not deducting postage from what they were holding, but rather "releasing" postage purchases to be charged to us right away, my cc was charged on the 15th for $78 while they hold over $600 in "deferred" funds from sales. Then 5 days later add on the $40 a month store fee. In order to get out of the negative hole and increase what I should get disbursed here, I started buying shipping labels through Veeqo. You still get ODR protection and claim protection (and BPM rate for books) BUT you can set it up to bill your credit card instead of the postage going through your amazon balance. This way it gives Amazon less of our money to hold on to.

This is a very unfair system. I was told by customer support that they need to put

money on hold to cover any A to Z claims or charge backs., but the fact is that

they have put 80% of my sales on hold (god knows till when?) and they also have

credit card on file that covers everything. A to Z claim and charge backs are less than

1%. not 80%!!! This is ridicules. Not Fair at all!!

This DD+7 has hamper my cash flow massively with outstanding charges piling up and they want to charge my credit card on file which they usually deduct from my balance which is now all under deferred system .

I just don't understand why amazon is not supporting sellers when they need their cash flow fast as we are already facing so many set backs from tariffs, custom hold, sky rocket logistics prices and many other issues.

I don't think we have any future left on this platform after being a seller for 10 plus years .

I have not been paid since February; It has been such a rough road. I can see the funds and it is enough to pay the fees, but they charged my bank account which barely has funds.

Amazon should rethink this DD+7 issue, it is really tough on a small business like mine, I have so many orders that were already delivered way past 25 days. I am at the verge of begging amazon to give me some funds to keep me going.

I don't know what to do. My sales have also have declined 50%

I am only showing a little amount available. Everything is Deffered.

We also have this unpaid payment. what happen. So many years ago, always two weeks' pay. This two-week period just does not cover sales costs. What happened this? not pay should pay. Small businesses need to pay office rent and payroll.

If you keep getting sales and buying Amazon shipping, it just keeps pushing your payments off further and further. Amazon sellers have become the rabbits they dangle the carrot in front of. lol Oh, and what's the purpose of the 7 day period for buyer to examine their product and decide to return or not? We all know Amazon will still let them return months or even years later. Maybe they should tell customers "That's it! Sorry, you surpassed the 7 day mark to return it. You had plenty of time to examine it and turn it over and over." lol The whole thing is sooo shtoopid. Or, at least, Amazon thought we wouldn't see right through it.

Amazon is losing all of these sellers as customers, also. I find that quite satisfying to think about. And the word will spread to some of the relatives and friends who may also boycott. Soon all Amazon will have left is scammer customers ripping off the scamming out of country sellers.
