Has anyone purchased from Velocity Wholesale Supply?

Hi everyone,

We are considering placing our first wholesale order with Velocity Wholesale Supply (velowholesale.com) for resale through Amazon FBA. They state that they support marketplace sellers, provide commercial invoices and LOAs upon request after purchase, require a $3,000 minimum order, and accept payment by ACH.

Has anyone here actually purchased from them? We would appreciate any first-hand feedback about order fulfillment, product authenticity, communication, FBA preparation, and whether their invoices or authorization documents were successfully verified by Amazon. Thank you.

Sourcing from an authorized distributor/wholesaler/reseller/store/retailer does not make your business an authorized reseller.

Be careful

If the distributor is authorized by the brand and issues an LOA to our company, would that be sufficient, or must the authorization come directly from the brand?
View post

If an LoA is needed, it must come from the brand itself; it cannot be from a distributor.

I'll also mention that, in general, wholesalers who are marketing specifically to Amazon FBA and carrying hundreds or thousands of brands are often a cause of trouble. Looking at their website, I see many brands that you will NOT get approved to sell. And then there is this disclaimer:

"Velocity Wholesale Supply does not guarantee that our invoices will result in approval for any gated category, restricted brand, or marketplace compliance requirement. Decisions regarding seller eligibility and listing approvals are made exclusively by Amazon and other marketplace platforms in accordance with their own policies, which are subject to change without notice.

...

Velocity Wholesale Supply bears no liability for any failed ungating applications, account suspensions, or marketplace restrictions arising from a purchase."

Unless you get permission directly from a brand and they send you to this distributor, I wouldn't be willing to take the risk.

You cannot get a meaningful LOA from a wholesaler. The authorization needs to come directly from the BRAND OWNER, and better yet, you should be formally authorized/whitelisted by the brand to sell its products on Amazon.

An invoice from a wholesaler may establish where you purchased inventory, but that is not the same thing as the brand giving you authorization to sell its products.

I would also be very cautious about building a new Amazon business around this model. Buying branded products from wholesalers and reselling them on Amazon is an increasingly dated strategy, regardless of how many YouTube or TikTok videos still promote "Amazon wholesale" as an easy business opportunity.

Amazon has been moving steadily toward tighter control over authenticity, supply-chain documentation, brand authorization and who is permitted to sell branded products. What worked for resellers 5 or 10 years ago should not be assumed to work going forward.

If I were starting today, I would focus on one of two models: own the brand yourself, or develop a direct relationship with a brand where you are an authorized Amazon seller and ideally recognized by the brand through Brand Registry.

That gives you something a random wholesaler cannot provide: a direct relationship with the owner of the intellectual property and a clear paper trail showing why you are authorized to sell the product.

The reseller model is not where I would invest significant time and money building a new Amazon business today.

Thank you all for the clear advice. We understand now that an invoice proves the source of the inventory, but it does not make us an authorized reseller, and that any required LOA must come directly from the brand.

The specific ASIN we are considering is currently open for our account in New condition, but we will not rely solely on a distributor-issued LOA. We are verifying the supplier’s legal information and contacting the brand directly before making any payment. If anyone has actually purchased from Velocity Wholesale Supply, we would still appreciate hearing about their experience.

Never ordered from them, but they get a 3.8 on Trust Pilot; that is solid but not great. Sourcing on Amazon is hard; st a minimum you will need a wholesale invoice and preferably a LOA from the brand (as other have stated), but even with these there is no guarantee Amazon will accept them. Amazon is a hyper saturated market with numerous unclear rules, just make sure you understand what you are getting into here.

You should also ask for references from Velo Wholesale from other buyers; they should give those to you. These will probably be positive but at least you can ask questions.

At least for the first few orders I would HIGHLY recommend having inventory sent to you to inspect and send to FBA. We only allow vendors we know and have worked with to send inventory into Amazon sight unseen.
