I’m requesting Amazon to enable the submission of a trade name in the tax interview form for sellers who have an ‘Individual’ account type on Amazon US. Currently, the tax profile for individual sellers only allows the submission of a personal name, causing compliance issues for sole proprietors whose VAT is officially registered under their trade name.

2. The type of issues encountered:

This limitation results in Amazon incorrectly rejecting valid EU VAT numbers (verified through the official EU VIES database) due to perceived “name mismatches.” Because the official VAT registration uses the business trade name, but Amazon only accepts personal names in individual accounts, compliance becomes impossible under the current system. Ideally, I should be able to enter both my personal name and my trade name.

4. Limited visibility:

The issue described above is structural for sole proprietors based in Europe who have a VAT registration with their trade name. In my case, each time I contact seller support, they generously send me links to a marketplace which I don't even have an account on. They also ask me to change my name on the tax form to my trade name. However, this option is not available for individual accounts.

As a result, I have not been able to verify DAC7 despite seller support communication and forum posts.
