Important information regarding price gouging
Corresponding with the recent spike in COVID-19 cases, we have observed an increased incidence of price gouging in our store, particularly on COVID-related products like masks and test kits.
As you know, the Marketplace Fair Pricing policy protects our customers from unfair, excessive, and misleading prices. Non-compliance with this policy may trigger offer removal or account suspension.
As a reminder, our price gouging prevention systems attempt to account for variations in local laws while also providing customers a consistent experience across our stores. We take increases in the cost of goods, freight, and labor into consideration. We have and will continue to adjust our price gouging thresholds to reflect these dynamics.
Visit the Pricing Health page to view and restore any listings that may have been deactivated in accordance with our Fair Pricing policy.

Is this for Sellers or is it just a publicity stunt? Without more details on the internal mechanisms, to provide Sellers better guidance, it isn’t really news worthy is it?

As a consumer I’ve noticed Amazon itself doing it’s own a bit of gouging, but the bots never seem to notice it with me. 🥸

Maybe you could also adjust your “Potential high pricing error” while your at it.
- Everything cost more. I’ve had some products double in cost.
- Labor costs are really going up
- Every “Potential high pricing error” I currently have can not be taking any of this into consideration.

This has to be a joke. I have had a few listings that were deactivated due to pricing even though my price was lower than the Amazon fulfillment price.

Price gouging, a good example is the post office raising its rates for the holiday season then dropping them afterwards

The hypocrisy of Amazon’s policies never ceases to amaze me. Have you forgotten fulfillment price increases? Storage price increase? Pick and pack price increases? This is truly unbelievable.

Amazon should think about working with shipping partners to help pass along better shipping rates. It’s well known that Amazon has very deep discounts. Try earning those high selling fees for once!!!

Your system for flagging “Potential High Prices” is incredibly flawed. I had a Pokemon Card flagged for this error because it was priced at $1…

When my suppliers increase their price, I have to increase my price. Amazon keeps flagging my items due to “high pricing error” when I increased by $4 and I still offer free shipping even though the USPS inflated prices for the holidays and just did a permanent increase and is set to do another increase in just a few short months. We are not inflating prices, we are having to shift with the market. Everyone knows that you have to be profitable in order to stay in business. These issues in the market are not caused by us, the last one’s in line where there is very little profit left. Very frustrating that there is price fixing going on.
