FBA Measurement & Size Tier Issue
Hello All,
I am facing some FBA issues regarding size tier and measurements for my ASIN.
Please take a look at the image attached (from inspection) which clearly shows my product is within the “Large Standard Size Tier” limits of (18” x 14”x 8”) and weight limit of 20lbs
As per the measurement report the product measures 17.76” x 14.02” x 7.95”. So it is crossing on the median dimension, but as the photos show this is very clearly within the limit
I opened two cases for re-measurement and both times unsuccessful so I’m stuck for 60 days before I can appeal for re-measurement. Please help as this seems completely illogical when the photos are super clearly within the limit.

I think what makes this particularly challenging is that your packaging sits almost exactly at the threshold between size tiers (14" vs 14.02").
While I sincerely hope you might receive a courtesy exception given how minimal the difference is, there are a few practical considerations worth mentioning:
The Understanding item package weight and dimensions help page specifically cautions: "When you design your packaging, avoid dimensions that are close to the size-tier boundaries." I assume this advice comes from Amazon's recognition that packaging at the threshold creates ongoing classification risks.
Even minor variations in packaging - tiny bulges or slight inconsistencies of fractions of an inch - can trigger these measurement discrepancies when you're right at a threshold. The automated measurement systems are incredibly precise but don't have the flexibility a human might apply.
If redesigning the packaging is a possibility (even modifying it by just a fraction of an inch), the difference in FBA fees between size tiers might actually make this a worthwhile investment in the long run, even considering the initial costs.
