Am I Crazy orDoes Amazon Not want 3rd Party Sellers Anymore??
I'm so confused. In the years and years we've been here, just seems that by all the horrible changes and terrible treatment, and suffocation through algorythm changes, price hikes,............death by slow cuts.......that the answer is a loud and resounding NO. Am I crazy?

Nope. Now that the name brand companies are getting involved directly with the platform to sell their goods it absolutely looks like amazon is pushing out any small sellers.

Kicking out all your good and caring sellers seems like such a BAD business plan. Weird and wild stuff, guess that's why I don't make the big bucks lol

While this part is true, unfortunately, AMAZON in the early days tried to be an eBay on steroids and opened itself up to every flea market seller and part time 'entrepreneur' out there that had no clue about running a real business.
There are still people on here that insist that doing RA and OA are allowed and viable ways of selling here.
And THEN Bezos opened the doors to CHINA in order to try and open that market. A BILLION dollar+ error in judgement that has created the largest flea market on earth here.
The INFORM Act as well as other laws have resulted in a lot of changes to the selling landscape and Amazon is aggressively culling the herd.
If you don't buy brand direct or through authorized wholesalers your days here are numbered even if they never change a fee or policy from here going forward.
Thousands of sellers are getting the axe one way or another.

Hi @Seller_kIukTwdhvntAp
I love when sellers who understand the evolution of Amazon selling share their perspectives on whether Amazon wants small sellers. We do want small sellers. However, I understand how some of our newer programs may cause doubt. Each seller should evaluate selling on Amazon based on their own circumstances and willingness to adapt to non-optional new programs we introduce.
Thanks for being here in the forums. Susan

"We do want small sellers."
I am absolutely a 'small seller' but, let's be clear (crystal clear as the movie says), Amazon is now morphing ( (or, more accurately has morphed) into sellers NEEDING an actual BUSINESS model -- NOT the 'hobby sellers' and garage sale varieties that have been on here for years.
The days of NOT having INVOICES and LOAs are either long gone or are on the way out from every indication that I see on the Forum.
There was just a post by one seller responding about how sales were by bragging about how well they were doing with RA. Do you guys even do anything other than shudder when you see CR#$ like that? Other sellers then think RA is permitted!

Thanks for responding @SEAmod!!
Guess I shouldn't be surprised when my face gets eaten after joining the "Leopards Eating Face Club."

Agree with all this, and that's what makes things even more frustrating.

Maybe it's anecdotal, but I do see a pattern of reputable sellers being pushed out. We got suspended after 10 years of selling, with $6m/year, 500 orders/day volume.

Amazon is completely hostile to small American businesses. This is intentional, this treatment. The idea is suck all the life from the small businesses that sell here. Metaphorically drain every drop of blood out of our bodies and then throw our corpses to the side once we drop dead.

They are a multi-billion dollar business built on the backs of small third-party sellers. Like most big corporations, they go where the profit is. Low volume third-party sellers are only a very tiny percentage of their sales and profits, which means they don't really need us. Not really a surprise, really. Big corporations have been cheating the "little guy" for decades. Amazon is just one more on the list. If you're not high-volume, or high profit, your days are probably numbered. I'm one of them, by the way.

What is going on with Amazon is truly mindboggling. I am not a big multi million dollar company but I was doing pretty good. In 2023 I paid $92,254.49 in selling fees. So far this year it is $7382.29.
It does not seem as though they are making wise choices pushing small business away. It seems they are not seeing the benefit we small business brought to the table. Now they are not even giving us crumbs or a chair to set at the table.
It makes me sad to see all the hard work I have put into Amazon fall away.

Amazon wants small sellers as long as the small sellers play by the rules and adapt, unless your from China and then its a different set of rules.
However if they can get the brands to come on directly, they want them too.
I said to someone in the jewelry business once, they ( Amazon people) arent at the trade shows looking for me, they are here looking for my suppliers.
