Amazon is standardizing apparel sizes to improve the overall customer shopping experience through ingestion of consistent and accurate data. Starting February 22, 2021, you will be required to use these attributes when creating new listings and updating existing listings.
Previously, sellers used free-form text to provide apparel sizing information. Now, you must select values from a standardized list for size attributes like apparel size, body type, and height type for DRESS, SWEATER, BLAZER, SWEATSHIRT, COAT, VEST, ROBE, TIGHTS, KURTA, TUNIC, TRACK_SUIT, PAJAMAS, SOCKS, UNDERPANTS, SUIT, and SALWAR_SUIT_SET. These attributes will enhance the customer experience when browsing and viewing your products by displaying standardized and consistent size values.
Please review the details and additional product type release dates outlined on the Apparel Product Listing Experience Help Page and the Frequently Asked Questions page.

The headline this morning said “required” now it says “available”…
Are they required or just available?
Need more clarification here. It’s the prime reason of alienating Seller’s. Amazon need to satisfy both customers and the sellers.
Please consider adding size 000 to the adult female list. 000, 00, 0, 2, 4, 6, 8, etc.
When are you going to add a unisex category? Pretty crazy we still have to choose “Male” or “Female” for the browse node.
The important thing is that we didn’t tell us whether it had any impact on existing links and whether we needed to change existing links to adapt to Amazon’s new regulations.
Or is it just to create a new link and change the old link to use the new size attribute.
When editing variations from the parent, the bulk selectors at the top do not work! Such as Target Gender, Age Range Description…This is very labor intensive - around 160 clicks per parent style. I am using google chrome by the way…
