EU & UK Expansion 🌍 (Save the date: Ask Amazon Global Selling)
Hi sellers!
We are excited to announce the second Ask Amazon Event on August 14, 2025 (link will be posted August 7th) focused on tools, listings, and best practices in expanding your business internationally to the UK & EU (Germany, France, Italy and Spain) with our Global Selling partner team (check out our previous Ask Amazon here).
Below are some insights about choosing where and what to sell for your business. Let us know in the comments below which store you are considering for expansion and what questions you would have for the team!
🤔 Before you jump in, consider:
Explore demand in Europe:
Selling globally can be a big step. That’s why we provide insights and recommendations to help you understand customer demand in each country. Log in to Seller Central to explore tools like Marketplace Product Guidance and the Sell Globally dashboard. You’ll also want to consider:
- Consumer needs and demand
- Product demand across each marketplace
- Category insights
Product compatibility:
US and Europe have different regulations surrounding safety and labeling that you’ll need to be aware of, as Amazon product compliance follows each country’s specific rules such as:
- Electrical standards (for example, 110V vs. 220V)
- Local size standards
- Store-specific regulations
- Cultural preferences
Language requirements:
Because of the diversity of languages across Europe, it’s important for product listings to be in the native language of the country you’re planning to sell in. The below list captures considerations for language requirements:
- Customer service capabilities
- Product listing localization
- Marketing material adaptation
💡 Pro tips:
- Start with the Stores where you have language capabilities.
- Use FBA to handle customer service in new stores.
- Research local competitors in your category.
- Check product restrictions BEFORE listing.
