Typically, you cannot sell your Amazon account. There are instances, under specific guidelines that is it allowable. You will have to research that. But I do not believe you can then turn around and open another account.
Hi @Seller_y1tNTH4AfJZnD
Connor from Amazon here.
Seller accounts generally are not transferable. Seller accounts provide access to the tools and resources that sellers use to list their products and manage their orders.
If you try to sell it and open a new account then your new one will be flagged as related account and can be a subject to deactivation if it violates any of our policies.
I generally do not recommend doing this as it can hinder your ability to sell on our platform.
If the ownership of a business changes for any reason, the new owner must establish a new seller account.
I hope this helps,
Connor
Only way you can legit transfer an account is, if a registered business with physical. on hand inventory and registered brand/s is officially sold and brand names, inventory and business are transferred to a new owner.
Even then, this must be shared with support and they will decide on final approval.
Anything else violates policy, your name will remain responsible for the account and all associated fees after you sel. it. Don't fall for the liars lurking in the dark.
@Connor_Amazon- so a new owner has to relist all the offers under the new account? They lose all the performance history of the previous owner, correct?
So when selling a business with an Amazon following, you have to make sure the buyer understands there is NO GOOD WILL associated with the Amazon account.
If I am the original manufacturer, and I close my account because I sold the business, does that not delete all the ASINs? This would also delete all the reviews, destroying any value for a new purchaser in any kind of good will on the Amazon sales that likely are significant in the valuation of the business.
Do I have that right?
