Hello,
I just talked to a local USPS post office manager.
This is not a new issue, but unfortunately it has still not been resolved by Amazon.
We ship from Germany and have been working with Amazon FBA in the USA for over 10 years.
This has also worked very well for the very longest time.
Since the Amazon-optimized-shipment-split was introduced, we can no longer ship to the usual FBA warehouses. Previously it was always MDW2 and they worked very well with us.
Now it happens again and again that we have to send to warehouses like GYR2, GYR3, SCK4, RFD2, MQJ1, WBW2 and others that refuse our shipments because the cooperation between USPS and Amazon does not work.
We cannot ship with UPS because our merchandise has a lot of volume and is lightweight. UPS is too expensive for international shipments and our margin is too small.
We therefore have to use DHL air freight, which is handed over to USPS in the USA to deliver the shipments.
You can also select USPS as the carrier when creating an FBA shipment in Seller Central. At first glance, this does not appear to be a problem.
So I just had a nice phone conversation with Lina from the USPS Post Office in Olpyphant, PA who received our package for WBW2 yesterday and she told me:
"We cannot deliver to 1300 Corporate way. Amazon has to pick up the shipments from us. We've had parcels sitting here for months. We are not a warehouse. So we simply send the shipments back to the sender."
So this 300 dollar shipping box is being returned to us now. Which is very frustrating because we lose the shipping cost and we lose the revenue for merchandise that will be sold out in the meantime.
Why do some FBA warehouses manage to work with USPS and others don't?
Some seem to have arrangements for Amazon to pick up the USPS packages there, others may have the USPS car deliver, but this doesn't seem to be so easy for USPS because we know that Amazon has it's policies.
So my point and what I am asking for is:
Would it somehow be possible for sellers who create FBA shipments with a shipping address abroad and select USPS as the carrier to only be suggested warehouses that ACTUALLY accept USPS?
Is it that difficult to program this? We are also willing to pay the fees for shipping to only one address.
But please find a solution because it's been almost a year now and it seems to go on and on.
Thank you very much and I would be very grateful if this could be escalated to someone who really cares.
It is just a ridiculous problem with some centers that is costing sellers a lot (also costing Amazon lost sales and trust) that Amazon never fixes. WBW2 is perhaps the worst as it seems to be a big center with a lot of shipments going to it.
You might want to try mailing the following. I got some better help that way in the past. jeff at amazon.com
Also, look up "Centers that Are Refusing USPS Deliveries" on the forum for more information on this topic.
Thanks for the useful information, Amazon just offered to send me an international package to WBW2...
Now I will know that I don’t need to do this.
This problem with the refusal of acceptance USPS some (often new) FBA warehouses it's really been more than a year and Amazon hasn't solved it at all. It's very sad that they treat sellers like that
