Store Name instead of My Name
I recently got an email from a woman who demanded to speak to me - using my personal name. (she thought I was selling a book that she lost...don't ask...very odd email)
It kind of freaked me out that she had my name. I'm a single woman living alone and she was a little concering in her email. On my seller side information page - the display name is Yellow Dog Reads. But when customers look at at my page, it shows my own name. Can this be changed?
My business name is not "official". It's just what I named it on Amazon. I'm a very small potatoes used bookseller.

No, this is a US law since 2022. But I guess that 95% of the customers don't know where to find the "Detailled Seller Information" and I wouldn't care too much. And honestly, as customer, personally I require knowing from WHOM I buy and to whom I give my money.
In Europe that's mandatory for each platform and each website since many, many years.
You could create a Single Member LLC for at least avoid your private name being published. The address although would be published.

Amazon started doing this a while back. We took our phone # off because we decided this was TMI. Although determined buyers occasionally look up our store name online & get the phone #.
But how did she get your email address? As opposed to emailing through the Amazon system?
