Business Solutions Agreement updates effective March 4, 2026

Effective March 4, 2026, we’re updating the Amazon Services Business Solutions Agreement (BSA) and including a new Agent Policy with new requirements for AI usage and automated systems, along with updates to our dispute resolution process.

Updates will include the following changes:

  • Mexico and US/Canada: We’ll add a separate Business Solutions Agreement for the Mexico store. We’ll remove all references to Mexico in the US and Canada agreement and make minor updates to clarify Canada-specific references.
  • AI and machine learning restrictions: We’ll add BSA restrictions on using Amazon materials or services for AI development with enhanced protection against reverse engineering.
  • Agent restriction and new Agent Policy: We’ll add requirements for the use of automated software or AI agents to access Amazon Services, and we may restrict their access in certain instances under the BSA and new Agent Policy. All AI agents must do the following:
  • Clearly identify themselves as automated systems
  • Comply with the new Agent Policy at all times
  • Cease access if Amazon requests
  • Dispute Resolution: We’ll add a new Section 20 with details on an arbitrator’s power. While this section is new, the content includes our existing binding arbitration language and class action waiver.

Additional updates to the BSA will include the following:

  • Updated privacy notice references to use general "Amazon's Privacy Notice" language
  • Change "Developer Site" references to "Solution Provider Portal"
  • Add definitions for “Agent,” “Applicable Government Authority,” and “Our Materials”
  • Revise “Insurance Limits” definition

Your continued use of Selling Services after the effective date constitutes acceptance of these changes.

To preview the updates that will be made to the agreement, go to Changes to the Amazon Services Business Solutions Agreement.

To view the new Agent Policy, go to Agent policy.

"We’ll add requirements for the use of automated software"

Please add more detail before we have to see it in the BSA. We use software to obtain pending orders for fulfillment, and to send tracking back to Amazon for those orders where we cannot purchase postage from Amazon.

Policy changes seem to be AI related but "automated software" could be broad, such as regularly requesting new orders.

Have software providers been informed of the unstated changes? That's who this really impacts, not sellers directly but the providers we use to automate portions of our business.

I’m using GETIDA for FBA reimbursements—will third-party services like this be considered “Agents” under the new March 2026 BSA/Agent Policy update?

Could continued use of reimbursement services create any compliance risk for sellers?

....says the company that is using AI to destroy small business, livelihoods, and families for years now. Its almost laughable if it wasn't so insulting.

You are such entitled [Moderator Edit: removed inappropriate commentary]s.You're busy scraping other sites so that you can (inaccurately) determine that we're selling items for "too much", and placing other sites' products on Amazon, against the wishes of us sellers and in many cases the brands whose products you are showing (brand protection my A). Meanwhile, we can't even scrape our own listings on your site to monitor when you have biffed them.

This overprivileged attitude is currently destroying livelihoods (and this country). "We don't want an unfair advantage ... we just want our fair advantage."
