getting shipping address for usps insurance claim and tracking issues

is this possible? pulling up the complete shipping address?

I've had several cases open but the support reps have told me they don't have access to the complete shipping address. I can't get USPS to research the issue without the complete address of the buyer. and I can't file a USPS claim either without the complete address. I have been all thru seller center and it appears there is no way to pull up the complete shipping label (address) once a certain number of days have passed. buyer ordered item 30 days ago.

amazon usps tracking information shows several entries (does not show location but states item is in transit) but usps.com tracking information has no entries.....meaning they did not even receive the package from me. does anyone know why the descrepancy? I called USPS customer service and talked to the local post office and they both said....SORRY, BUT WE NEVER GOT THE PACKAGE FROM YOU. the ACTION ON PACKAGE section of the order details page shows the shipping label was created july 1. so wouldn't that be when USPS got the preshipment info (not july 2). they get it immediately after you print the USPS label in amazon seller center right? I figured that is automated and happens in real time. here is the tracking info below (you can see they don't match up at all).

amazon usps tracking entries (no location of package is provided):

Fri, jul 12, 2024 5 PM PDT PACKAGE DELAYED IN TRANSIT

MON july 1, 2024 12:52 PM PDT CARRIER PICKED UP THE PACKAGE

USPS.com tracking entries

JULY 2, 2024 PRE-SHIPMENT, USPS AWAITING ITEM

all comments are much appreciated

The only way I know to get a shipping address after a period of time is to reprint the label, but even that only works for some period of time, not sure how long. If printing the label doesn't show the address, I don't know of a way to get it. I don't think the address will do any any good anyway, though, because there is no actual scan from the USPS to indicate they got the package, and without that, they won't pay anything on a claim. The 'scans' from Amazon are BS scans. The "CARRIER PICKED UP THE PACKAGE" actually means, "The carrier has not yet picked up the package, but a shipping label has been created". The "PACKAGE DELAYED IN TRANSIT" simply is Amazon's way of saying that the package is now late to the buyer, it is not any information from the tracking number, Amazon just notes that the deliver by date has now passed.

Carrier picked up the package is a scan sheet scan. It means nothing as they do not check what is in the mail bag, they just scan the sheet. You do not have a scan that shows they actually ever received this package. they update it to "delayed" a number of days after the scan sheet was scanned in. That again, does not mean they received it, but the opposite

thanks for the replies. is the LOCAL USPS SUPPOSE to scan every package I give them to process and ship? I think this local post office didn't scan the package (as I have noticed this has happened before) and shipped it out and then it got lost somewhere. they have pretty poor reviews on google but I have never had any problems with them (in 5 years) until now (I just drop my packages off on a counter (like lots of other people do) and then a local person processes the packages when they get the chance (at some point during the day). I hate to go to the counter with all my packages and require a receipt on every trip to the USPS. but maybe I will have to do that. this one hurts a bit as it was the most expensive and heavy package (7 lbs) and big (about the size of a medium flat rate box) I shipped this year.

Hi @Seller_Zismx4GAprKkX,

I see from your latest reply this looks like it may have been a USPS issue. If there are any issues moving forward please let me know and I can potentially assist.

Best,

Dominic
