I am noticing that about 1 in 5 of my FBA orders are never dispatched. This is only for FBA and it is a large number of orders over a year. These sales are included in my sales figures.
This means that my yearly sales figures are inflated by approximately 20%. I watch these sales and eventually they disappear. I presume that customers don't pay for the item but I cannot understand how this happens. When I buy an item on Amazon I always have to pay for it.
I am switching out of FBA to FBM for many of my listings as it seems that an FBM order is always a genuine, paid for sale, as it needs to be dispatched immediately.
Using FBA I also have received many orders with a dispatch date weeks or even months into the future. Usually when the dispatch date arrives the item is not sent out but the dispatch date changes to even further in the future. Often they never go out and seller support refuse to cancel an order so they sit on my pending orders list for six months or so. This means my stock is reserved and I am paying storage fees on it and it cannot be sold to another customer.
Does anyone know what is happening please? Any insight will be appreciated
