Hi everyone,
I am a newly registered seller trying to input my tax information as part of onboarding. I keep receiving the below error when I try to submit my tax information:
"The Name and Tax ID provided do not match IRS records. Please review your previous inputs and ensure the "Name" line is the correct name associated with the Tax ID provided. You should complete the tax information for the individual or business that will report the income on a U.S. income tax return. If you are completing the tax interview on behalf of a single member LLC, generally the owner’s Name and Tax ID would be provided."
What I've tried:
I am at my wit's end, can someone please assist?
Thanks
Do you live in the USA?
If you are a sole member sole proprietor or a sole member LLC, you can only use your SS number for selling on Amazon. Your business taxes are all reported on your personal SS Number IRS account. YOU are YOU and only needs one tax filing number.
Do you live outside the USA?
Having an LLC is necessary, and the ONLY number used on Amazon is your EIN number. Your business name must match the account name, and the address would be the resident agent address.
Hi @Connor_Amazon,
I noticed you assisted with several of the posts regarding this specific issue before. Are you able to assist or provide some guidance? Thanks
Hello there @Seller_OnoPZyjeG8Zgw
My name is CR and wanted to hop in here . While I am unable to provide specific tax advice, I have provided several resources below with more information on Amazon tax guidelines.
One thing you can check is to make sure you are not putting your personal name into the field "Full name". This is a common mistake and you should have put your business name (the name of your registered LLC) there.
If this is not your issue or does not work, I recommend that you create a case to Seller Support with your question and they can engage the Tax department.
