POLY BAG WARNING LABEL QUESTION
We have a product which is a roll of tape that we sell on Amazon. The product will ship in a sealed retail box - but we intend to put the product inside a poly bag for general protection when shipping to FBA. Note the product ONLY comes out of the box when the consumer opens it. Does that bag have to be sealed if inside a sealed box? We plan to put a warning label on it but not sure if we have to seal the bag?

Hello, @Seller_k7RD9fUO8m14k
Thank you for reaching out regarding your FBA packaging requirements.
Based on Amazon's FBA packaging guidelines, here's what you need to know about your roll of tape product:
Poly Bag Sealing:
- Yes, the poly bag must be completely sealed, even though your product is already inside a sealed retail box.
- Complete sealing is mandatory for all poly bags sent to FBA to ensure protection from dust, dirt, and damage during receipt, stocking, packing, and shipment.
Suffocation Warning Label:
- A suffocation warning label is required if your poly bag has an opening of 5 inches or larger (measured when flat).
- The warning must be printed on the bag or attached as a label in a prominent, legible location.
- If your poly bag opening is less than 5 inches, no suffocation warning is needed.
Additional Poly Bag Requirements:
- Minimum thickness of 1.5 mils.
- Must be transparent (not opaque).
- Must have a scannable barcode visible through the bag, or an FNSKU label on the outside.
- Must not protrude more than 3 inches past the product dimensions.
Since you mentioned planning to add a warning label, please ensure it meets the size requirements above. The key takeaway is that the poly bag must be sealed regardless of the sealed retail box, as FBA's packaging requirements apply to all protective packaging used during shipment to fulfillment centers.
I hope this clarifies your packaging requirements. Please let me know if you have any other questions!
Best regards,
Thea

Yes, if the bag is large enough to require the label, then it must be labeled.
This is not just an Amazon policy; this is the law in several states, and your packaging must comply with those laws.

Any plastic bag that has an opening 5 in or more wide must have a Suffocation warning.
