Refunds now Deferred?

I just noticed, after offering 3 different refunds for orders yesterday, that all of those refunds are now being deferred to the original payment release date of the order.

So, if I have a customer who needs a refund, does this mean that the customer will not receive the payment for another two weeks on the original order release date since all orders are now deferred?

I went back and couldn't see this happen on other refunds that have been processed since payments started being deferred.

Has anyone else seen this?

I'm just anticipating the customer messages demanding their money, if refunds are now also deferred.

Hello @Seller_OQTPwvIVqfKpB- thanks for seeking some clarification on these updates here on the seller forums.

I can help share the News Announcement around the deferred transactions update along with the Payments based on delivery date help page and the one focused on deferred transactions, which share further details on this change.

From my understanding, refunds needed to be issued to customers would not be delayed by this change, but timeframes for receiving payments from Amazon to a seller account may be elongated as "Sales proceeds are reserved until we know the buyer received the order in the promised condition, and to ensure that you have enough funds to fulfill any returns, claims, or chargebacks."

If you are seeing any issues with customers not receiving needed refunds, please do surface through seller support, and feel free to provide me with the related Case ID should you do so, in case I can help answer any questions from my end!

Thanks,

Danny
