The reason asking because my wife would like to be selling her own brand on Amazon under her entity. The entity is looking to be registered at same address as my current selling account.
Would this be allowed? Thanks!
@ASV_Vites is the authority on handling multiple accounts successfully.
You need different addresses. Check this post they made about this
Multiple selling accounts ...?
Same address is fine. Requires a completely different business including tax id, bank and credit cards, utility bills etc.
Even then, if either of you gets an account suspended…both accounts will get suspended.
It would be easier if you both used one account.
@Kai_Trading_Co, you can add your wife’s brand to your Seller account through Brand Registry, even if your brand is already there, too.
You can then change your Seller account display name to something more general and sell both Kai and KaiWife brands.
If you have two separate legal entities like 2 LLC or corporations or 1 LLC or corporation and an individual, you need two accounts to maintain the limitation of liability.
You can get an address at a UPS store and then not have this concern…better safe than sorry.
Why do you want to use your own address when better options such as UPS boxes are available for cheap and it’s tax-deductible anyway. Remember don’t share the internet connection between your account and your wife’s account.
There are a lot of wrong answers on here from people who think they know. The answer is yes, you can have two accounts at the same address and they can share the same IP address. The key distinction is that you can never sell the same item(s) on both accounts. As long as they are completely different, you can do it. I’ve been sharing a warehouse with another seller for 11 years with no issues. In the beginning, we proactively wrote the seller performance team and they responded thanking us for being up front and that we had permission to do this. We sell completely different products and never had any issues. With respect to your physical address, the suggestion to open a UPS store address is a good one. Keeps customers from finding your home. Good luck!
You can have 2 business entities, and then subsequently, 2 Amazon accounts, one for each business. Mailing Address doesn’t really matter. If you are really concerned, get a USPS PO Box or UPS Box. Amazon says they cannot take PO Box for rural addresses, but they were totally fine when we changed our address to PO Box. No issues there.
Highly likely, that both accounts will be linked with each other regardless. So if one gets suspended, the other gets suspended too. I don’t think you have a way around it. As far as you maintain fair business practices aligning with Amazon Selling policies, I don’t think there’s anything else for you to do.
If your goods are something that you can sell on “thE bay” you may want to try to sell there instead, they do not have a policy against people in the same household having separate seller accounts over there.
