NEED GUIDELINE FOR LISTING Hand Sanitizer

Personal Safety and Household products

Customer trust is our top priority. As such, we have implemented more stringent requirements to sell certain Personal Safety and Household products related to the worldwide coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, such as:

  • Face masks
  • Hand sanitizer
  • Disinfectant wipes and sprays
  • Isopropyl alcohol
  • Gloves
  • Soap
  • Paper products
  • Thermometers

You must be a credentialed manufacturer to sell diagnostic and collection kits and certified N95 and similar masks.

So they are saying that only manufacturer can sell or can we as a wholesaler or distributor can order items from a manufacture with proper documents like certain certificates of own trademarks or private label from china. how will it work can anyone explain I am so confused how to list hand sanitizers in amazon. Is there any price range with ML.

Do you need to be branded owner of the product. Once you get the own logo and name in the product from china will amazon let you sell it or not after meeting the requirement. ?

I work with clients who are drug manufacturers. I don’t sell hand sanitizer, but, I know/understand the process.

Prior to COVID-19, to sell hand sanitizer you needed to register your company & product with the FDA and have the OTC product (hand sanitizer) published on DailyMed. This is done via the FDA CDER Direct Electronic Submissions Portal. The system is very difficult to use. Most use FDA consulting firms to handle the submission. The product needs an NDC# (National Drug Code) that is assigned by you once you have a company code. The “monograph” for product formulation must be followed. The manufacturing facility must be registered with the FDA and inspected regularly (by a third part inspection service who provides a GMP/cGMP certificate of compliance). The drug facts panel needs to be accurate. The supply chain rules need to be followed.

Due to COVID-19 the FDA relaxed the standards under an emergency order. The FDA does not intend to take action against firms that prepare alcohol-based hand sanitizers for consumer use and for use as health care personnel hand rubs for the duration of the public health emergency. Firms and their facilities still need to be FDA Drug Registration (DRLS) listed and to follow the specifics contained in the “Temporary Policy for Preparation of Certain Alcohol-Based Hand Sanitizer Products During the Public Health Emergency (COVID-19) Guidance for Industry”. Once the FDA listing has been completed/submitted, firms receive automatic confirmation from the FDA and do not need to wait for further communication from the FDA before they begin to manufacture and distribute products. If you make it, will Amazon sell it??? Likely, they won’t.

The pieces that you’ll need to provide Amazon: CDER Direct submission/DRLS docs, GMP/cGMP certification docs, and proof of product liability insurance that names the category you are selling (e.g. OTC drug / hand sanitizers). If you’re trading in a product you don’t manufacture, then you’ll need permission from the maker/brand with supply chain documentation showing that you’re legitimate (the FDA has regulations in place regarding warehouse facilities to the supply chain management).

If you don’t manufacture and sell OTC drugs as your main business, doing so now is not a good idea.

Amazon may not be adding new products - they may already have enough suppliers and may not want to list more. This category is not for profiteers.

That means only if its in made in usa and also certified here in usa we can get approval for sale. Also i guess they are not letting anyone sale. I am confused who is allowed to sale ??? manufacturer …distributor…whole seller … retailer… who have a seller account … in amazon … what are the documentation or product approvals they need i am confused in that … its not about the pandemic i am thinking about it as a long run … after all this are over also…

Someone has to start somewhere… so new or old seller doesn’t matter i guess as once the old seller was also new to everything here. Slowly they have climbed there stairs in business.

Anyways thanks to everyone who have replied with there vast knowledge. I need to know more. can anyone clear me more with the topic. thanks.
