Step into Augmented Reality and go 3D this Prime Day!
Did you know as a Brand-registered seller, you could be offering your customers a 3D shopping opportunity right here on Amazon? (And I’m not talking about making them wear the red and blue glasses we had at the movie theater back in the day...)
You can offer a feature which enables your customers to view all angles of a product and intuitively pinch, zoom, or rotate the 3D image on their device screen to create a richer, more immersive experience to learn about your products!
Photorealistic models build trust and help our customers make better informed purchasing decisions. Here are some statistics obtained from an Amazon News article from September 2024 around US seller experience with the feature:
- 8X increase in customers who viewed a product in AR at Amazon, from 2018 to 2022*.
- 2X improvement in purchase conversion observed on average in 2022 when customers click on AR Virtual Try-On or View in 3D buttons for enabled product listings*.
- 94% of customers surveyed by Amazon said they would use Virtual Try-On again (2022 survey of over 2,000 Amazon customers)*.
- 9% improvement in sales observed on average when View in Your Room is enabled on an Amazon product listing (2023 Amazon study)*.
*Amazon does not guarantee future performance based on prior results.

I am sure your next question is, How do I create models for the 3-D Program?
I am glad you asked, →HERE← is a link to the help page that has detailed steps to begin the modeling process.
You may also create 3D models through mobile scanning using the Create 3D Models tool, found within the Amazon Seller app. If you prefer watching video tutorials, feel free to take a look at →THIS← instructional video, which discusses how to prepare and scan your products for the creation of 3D models.
While working on creating your 3D models, note that it should display the appropriate level of detail and represent materials in a physically plausible manner when compared to real-life referenced products. Models that do not accurately depict products as shown in the detail page images may be rejected through our quality assurance evaluation.
Ready to upload your models?
→HERE← is a link to the help page that has detailed steps on uploading the required information for 3D modeling.
Note: Before starting, ensure that you have accurate product dimensions ready to submit along with your 3D model. 3D models must be in GLB or GLTF format.
If you require more information on file requirements you may visit the 3D model technical requirements help page, linked →HERE←
Once you begin scanning your product, Amazon will create a baseline 3D model which will be evaluated by a 3D artist who will ensure that it meets Amazon’s imaging standards. If your scan has moved to "in-progress" status inside the app, it means that we have received your scan successfully.
After you finish the scan, it will take Amazon approximately three weeks to complete your model. You can check the status of completed scans in the 3D asset review in the upload Image Manager and in the meantime, if you would like to scan more items, you can continue doing so during this time.
Once the 3D model is approved, it will be published to the Amazon catalog in your product’s 3D experience, subject to product, region, and device eligibility. (Note: You don’t have to review the 3D model before it gets published).
