Product Liability Insurance UAE based entity selling on Amazon.com US

Can anybody point me to a liability insurance provider? I'm based in UAE but sell exclusively in US for now.

Marsh insurance do not have the right product offer here and have confirmed as much via email.

I went to insurancemarket.ae to scope out all insurers on the market and have had NO feedback from any providers who offer the type of coverage Amazon require.

What are other United Arab Emirates businesses using for the liability insurance to remain compliant? Please help!

Hi @Seller_9szhmWr7RyhKH,

Looking at Amazon's insurance requirements (Commercial Liability Insurance Requirements), here's what's needed:

Your policy needs to be commercial general, umbrella, or excess liability insurance with at least $1 million coverage per occurrence. It must name "Amazon.com Services LLC and its affiliates and assignees" as additional insureds, and your provider needs global claim handling capability plus an S&P A- and/or AM Best A- rating (or a local equivalent if these ratings aren't used in the UAE).

Here's something that might help - in the same help page, under "Insurance policy criteria," Amazon mentions they'll consider exceptions case-by-case if sellers can't secure a policy meeting all requirements. Given the challenges you're facing in the UAE market, you might want to reach out to Seller Support about possible exceptions.

Just keep in mind that insurance is required once you hit $10,000 in monthly gross proceeds. The help page on A-to-z Claims Process notes that without insurance, Amazon may need to restrict selling privileges or seek reimbursement for claims.

I hope this helps point you in the right direction!

hello,

I just saw a similar question from another seller, and they couldn’t find any provider in UAE, you can choose to open an LLC corporation in the US, get an EIN and apply for insurance from a US insurance provider.

Hi @Seller_9szhmWr7RyhKH

Did you find a solution to this?

I am in the same position and cannot find a provider in the UAE.

Thanks
