Read onlyThis is maddening. My brand is registered with Amazon. I have professional seller account. I go to add my first product listing, and need GTIN exemption - so i apply for that - its a shirt - attach all appropriate pictures. Case: 17501025341 - i get response from Amazon that it is approved and to wait thirty minutes before listing products. Under seller application status that same approval emal shows “Declined”. When you click on it it shows the congratulations approval message from Amazon of the category - clothing, shoes, jewelry. It will not allow me to add anything from that category. It keeps saying I need the GTIN exemption and to apply now.
I chatted with three people yesterday and spoke on the phone with two. The two on the phone spoke very broken English, and understood zero english. They kept repeating the same script and couldnt understand a word I was saying. The chat wasnt any better. I keep getting denied, but I am not told the reason why I’m getting denied so it will never be fixed, in the meantime, I am paying for this service. I keep getting sent the link to seller Central to how to list a product and is very generic and unhelpful.
I have tried to get several gtin exemptions. All of them declined. How many angles of a T-shirt do you need? My company name ends with “Company”. All of my branding is “Co.”. That is understood by USTPO and Amazon brand registry as being the same. The last response I got said it’s either the pictures or your branding doesn’t match your brand name, based on the customer service level I’ve gotten so far I have a feeling that the ‘seller central team’ ive been dealing with see the branding with the “Co.” and not ‘company’ and are like NOPE not an exact match. Declined!
It’s very frustrating. All I want is for somebody to talk to who can understand the words that I am saying, and I can understand them, and they are not just reading from a well rehearsed script or copy and pasting links, and we can solve this matter in a few minutes.
Why do you want a GTIN exemption instead of buying UPCs from GS1? With an GTIN exemption you leave the doors open to hijackers of all kind!
Sounds like you have a bigger issue than GTIN exemptions. If your USPTO and Amazon Brand registered brand is LEAVE DAY COMPANY that's exactly what should be on the product, not LEAVE DAY CO or LEAVE DAY INC.
She's right. Just bite the bullet and get the UPCs from GS1. What is it these days for a small block of GTINs/UPCs? A few hundred dollars? You already invested in the USPTO trademark, which is a lot more. If you're serious about selling your shirts on Amazon and elsewhere you should be using UPC codes.
