sudden drop in number of sellers on a listing

hey, we have been selling on multiple listings on a brand since almost 2 years and never have had any problems. All of a sudden we have seen a sudden drop in offer count on some of those listings on that brand. What do you guys think about that.

like the offer count was 22 and it dropped straight to 14 and then went up again

I am not 100% certain of what it could be but I would be too paranoid to stay on the listing.
I have seen the efforts of numerous brands trying to get sellers off of their listings one by one.
However, I could be wrong. Maybe distribution methods have changed for this brand and a large portion of sellers are not able to get legit product anymore. Its very hard to tell.
