Holiday return window

Hey everyone, just a question concerning the holiday return window. I called seller support about this just now and they gave me conflicting information to what's in the return policy and seller university so wanted some clarification. They told me that amazon's return window is 60 days post receiving but a simple search says 30 days from receiving the item.

I understand the holiday window from 11/1-12/31 return cut off is 2/1. I have about a dozen returns sitting that were black friday purchases and returns were opened up very early December. Their order dates are coming up on 60 days ago and return claim having been open for 45+ days. There is also a situation where an item was purchased early November and a return was submitted about 4 days ago. Come 2/1, would I be in compliance to close out these holiday returns sitting at 30+ days post opening? For that order that was purchased 60 days ago and return opened up a few days ago, would that fall into that same 2/1 deadline or is it now an additional 30 days from 4 days ago?

I am seeing insane return rates for the apparel category for the fourth quarter. It looks like these customer friendly return policies are really being abused (for just apparel brands from what I can see).

It is my understanding that the FBA return policy for the fourth quarter is the 60 day thing I already mentioned.

It appears you are an FBM seller. You do not have to share the same return policy FBA has. You can continue to honor returns for purchases

Here is a piece of information that might interest you. Notice the play on words.

For FBM sellers, this means you're responsible for handling returns within this extended timeframe. You must adhere to Amazon's return policy, which requires accepting returns within 30 days of receipt, regardless of the reason.

It is up to you if you want to accept returns for items that were purchased outside of 30 days. But Amazon customers will be allowed to request such returns. You must handle them. But you must adhere to the regular return policy which is you must return and refund customers within 30 day s of purchase.
