FBA Prep Services
I having difficulty wrapping my head around these notifications (below) regarding FBA Prep Services ... Is Amazon "discontinuing" prep services? Will FBA Sellers be required to contract a prep center before FBA fulfilment? ... (I have no interest in prepping products myself). Any insight/clarification is much appreciated.
Under - FBA Prep Services
"Note: Starting January 1, 2026, we’ll no longer offer prep and item labeling services for Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) shipments in the US store. This change applies to all inventory that is sent to our US FBA service, including inventory that you send directly into FBA as well as inventory from Amazon Warehousing and Distribution (AWD), Amazon Global Logistics (AGL), Amazon SEND, and Supply Chain Portal, when that inventory goes through FBA."

"By Amazon if you want Amazon to prep the product.
Note: Effective January 1, 2026, Amazon FBA discontinues prep and item labeling services in the US.
By seller if you want to prepare the product yourself.
Note: If your products are classified as fragile or glass, even if you choose prep By Amazon, you must package them in advance. This is to ensure that they can withstand transit to our fulfillment centers and be safely handled by our FBA Prep Service associates. Products that are classified as sharp must arrive fully packaged as Amazon will not prep these items.

Hi there @Seller_yLm7JxwqkA6B6,
That's one option. As detailed on the help page, sellers have the choice between:
- Do it yourself. To get started, go to Prepare your products for FBA shipping.
- Use a service provider. You may work with your own preferred provider, or leverage the third-party service providers we have vetted for you. To review our vetted providers, go to FBA Prep Providers.
Hope this helps,
Topher
