Trying to close account
I've been trying to close my seller account for months, but continue to owe a small amount or have a small credit (current balance is $.18) After repeated efforts and cases, I thought I was finally going to be able to close it today when the $.18 was paid out. My account was moved to deactivated status since I did not comply with the address verification thing. Now I don't have the ability to create a case to close, the only thing I can do is appeal my deactivation. Is this basically the same thing, or do I need to work with someone to completely close down my seller account?

You can never close a suspended account. The account must be in good health to be closed. You may just want to downgrade to individual account type and walk away if you cannot fix the account in order to close it.

From what you have shared, I see that you desire to close your account and you have questions about how to do this successfully.
As @Seller_Hi7wbO2Kbo6bl has mentioned, to close your account it must be in good standing. You mentioned your account was deactivated for not verifying the address. Can you share the exact reason the account was deactivated? You should have received a deactivation performance notification with details and next steps to reactivate. Can you share the notification here after you have removed your personal information, for us to review?
Once the account is reactivated, you must complete the following steps before closing your account:
-Fulfill any outstanding orders.
-Wait 90 days after your last sale to ensure the A-to-z Guarantee claims period is honored.
-Wait until you have a zero balance in your account (your next disbursement or charge date).
-Resolve all of your transactions with buyers, including issuing any necessary refunds.
-Confirm that your bank account information on file is up-to-date to receive a final payment.
-Check your Performance notifications to make sure that all the reasons for your account's suspension have been resolved and your account is restored.
After the above steps are completed, if you choose to close your account, go to Settings and click Account Info. In the Account Management section on the right hand side of the page, click Close Account. Fill in all the required fields and click Send to submit your request. We will then contact you for assistance. You will receive a confirmation email once your account has been closed, or an email detailing why your account can't be closed at this time and additional steps required.
