The changes I made over the past 4 months have not been applied..

I have been selling products on Amazon for over 18 months. During the past 18 months, I have been changing the titles directly in the inventory section. However, when I downloaded the ASIN spreadsheet, I discovered that the titles I had updated had not been applied for the past four months. Yet, when I checked through the Amazon app, the titles appeared to be updated. It seems that the updates were not reflected in Amazon’s backend data.

To re-register the listing, I deleted it and waited 24 hours. During this time, I accessed the product page through the link and noticed that the title displayed was the one I had input four months ago.

I have the following questions regarding this situation:

  1. Was the product title being updated to the titles I have been changing over time, or had it stayed as the title I set four months ago?
  2. Was the keyword indexing based on the most recent title I updated, or was it indexed according to the title from four months ago?
  3. Why does this kind of situation occur? Has such an issue been reported in the past?

Sounds like you do not have enough Detail Page Control to effect the changes after the initial creation of the ASIN. This is common for the average seller.

You never checked the PDP's after your changes to see if it was taken? 99.999% chance it never took

It doesn't change if it doesn't go into effect

See my initial comment.

Also, basically only Brand owners in Brand Registry have enough control.

What you can try though is to change 1 word, maybe 2, at a time to get to what you want.
