Independent seller Are tired of Being Treated Like the Problem

Many independent sellers are reaching a breaking point.

We deal with excessive fees, inconsistent service, lost inventory, delayed reimbursements, and constant policy changes — yet we are expected to absorb every cost without question.

We are charged for storage, for returns, for removals, for advertising, for coupons on top of coupons, and sometimes even for Amazon’s own operational mistakes. Payments are prorated as if it were a favor, not a responsibility.

At the same time, we’re pushed to invest more into advertising just to remain visible — even when our products already meet quality, compliance, and customer satisfaction standards.

Lost inventory?

Delayed support?

Unclear fees?

No accountability?

Yet sellers are still expected to scale, spend more, and stay quiet.

Let’s be honest:

There is no Amazon without sellers.

There are no customers without products.

And without both, there is no marketplace.

We are not the problem.

We are the foundation.

Independent sellers deserve transparency, fair treatment, and operational accountability — not just higher fees and lower visibility.

Always keep in mind the Amazon Meat-Grinder Rule.

This forum provides a lot of value when Sellers share guidance about how to resolve problems and avoid costly mistakes.

However complaining to Amazon is about as useful as a Marine recruit complaining to their drill sergeant.

Unfortunately you are correct but I see no easy answers to fixing it; Amazon currently makes a ton of $$ of exploiting 3P sellers and they clearly have no plans of changing that.

Agree, but as long as there are Chinese sellers/factories dumping products into FBA, the boss does not care about us. The squeeze will continue.

I only use amazon as a dumpster for stale inventory. You cannot think of it as a "storefront" it is not. Amazon will always make more $$$ than you do on every item you sell.

With FBA you cease to be an independent seller. That is how the cookie crumbles.

Thank you very much for taking the time and effort, to voice our (3PL) collective sentiment.

Now, if only Amazon Leadership, would have some minimal Humane decency, they would pay attention, and make an effort to make some positive changes.

It's just amazing how those people working in the Executive Branch and Board Members have absolutely no shame of profiteering off the backs of millions of people.

Amazon = Zero Humanity, Zero Decency, Zero Conscience.

You forgot that for FBM sales, Amazon is starting to decide that we cannot offer Media Mail (or even Ground Advantage) because it might arrive late, even if we ship the day after the sale comes in. All they offer are much more expensive methods. At least for now, we can buy our postage elsewhere, but if that changes, who knows? My prices, at least, are somewhat based on postage costs (because as an individual seller I can't change the $3.99 shipping allowance).
