Toy storage? These are not even in the Category

Case ID: 15241282371

For some reason a number of Lidded Storage Bin from Home category randomly flag as "Toy Storage"

We reviewed the information and there is no mention of toys, we edited it just to ensure there is absolutely no confusion.

Appeal Rejected

Put on Minimum Age to 15, even though the home category won't display this as its not TOYS

Appeal Rejected

The case says Toy Storage, so my question here is how do we get it out of Toy storage? It has not been in TOYS, there is no marketing towards toy storage.

We do not want to sell this for item for toys. It is just a multipurpose basket with a lid.

Also, there is nothing that even mentions what Amazon wants from us beyond keeps repeating, go pay and get tested. What are we testing? Its not a Toy, we don't want to sell it for toys.

These are small woven baskets with a lightweight lid, so what is Amazon asking for? We are not selling Toy Chests.

From "Industry Guide to Health Canada's Safety Requirements for Children's Toys and Related Products"

Toy storage boxes and bins

Lid

A toy storage box or bin with a heavy lid that can fall freely poses dangerous strangulation and impact hazards to a child. This type of toy box design should never be used. Alternatives include a toy box without a lid, or one with a hinged lid designed to stay open in any position and under force.

Ventilation

Ventilation requirements are defined for any toy that is large enough for a child to enter into and that can be closed by a lid or door, such as a toy box. These requirements are described in the "Suffocation hazards" section of this guide.

The USA CSPC is worse in that they don't even say anything about toy storage, it all about TOY CHESTS. Which is reasonable, but a small box is not a chest.

Why is Amazon randomly forcing compliance of anything square or rectangular with a lid?

Still having Toy Storage Issues on US Marketplace,

Case ID 15218468941 / 15283333801

The product is still from the Lidded Storage Bin category. This time a Plastic Container with Lid and Latches. It's plastic, lightweight, and small.

it's frustrating to keep getting rejections, it feels like the product details are not being checked. There is zero mention of toys, children, or anything relevant.

It is not primarily intended for children's use and doesn't even seem to fall under the CSPC regulation.

The only mention of Toy Storage Compliance via Toy Safety Business Guidance on CPSC.gov is in regard to toy chests.

4.41 – Toy Chests

Toy chests must meet certain performance requirements to prevent pinching, crushing, laceration, and suffocation hazards.

---

Why is Amazon classifying multipurpose plastic storage bins as toy chests / toy storage, especially ones this small?

What are we supposed to test for exactly? Do we pay to send to lab for them to send us an official document that it's not a toy chest?

Hi there @Seller_tWzi4VNPG4T9m,

Thank you for your time. I've reviewed your listing and the case and it appears that the team has completed their review and overturned the previous determination as a "Toy Storage" product for the ASIN in Case 15241282371.

You should be able to relist this product at this time. Regarding your other products I recommend that you continue to appeal in those cases. For each ASIN still removed please provide me the most recent Case ID and I will attempt to escalate the issue for internal review if possible. Thank you for your understanding.

-Glenn
