Glad you could make it back to the Listings Lounge once again. I hope you found my previous dive into attributes informative. As we discussed previously attributes are what bring your listing to life and display information on the detail page, but today we are focusing on the most powerful listing tool available to Professional Sellers; Listing Templates. By using a Listing Template you can create robust listings in bulk rather than having to make them one at a time.
Listing Templates are spreadsheet documents that you use to build your listings. While this process can be daunting for those without spreadsheet experience, after working with the files you may find that it is easier than listing one product at a time.
There are a few different Listing Templates you can use but the most standard are as follows:
Once you have used a template to create or update a listing once, you can download a Processing Summary and edit the template to submit changes to a product. Additionally, you can identify and update your listing quality from the Listing Quality Dashboard. Instead of making updates one at a time, update them all at once using bulk edits.
Templates are great for a number of reasons but one of the strongest parts of them is being able to name the specific attributes from the template you are having trouble updating and the data definitions on the template indicate exactly what that attribute is intended to do and if it is required for the product type you are listing. I hope that if you haven’t yet you try templates for your business. It can take time to learn but it can reduce time you spend managing listings by hours and days if you have a complicated inventory.
What successes have you had with using Templates and Uploading your Inventory Information? What prevents you from using these features as a Professional Seller? Feel free to share your experiences and tips on uploading inventory here!
If you are having specific issues with templates or uploading inventory please feel free to create a new thread with your most recent Seller Support Case ID and the details of your experience.
Thanks for listening folks! Good luck at evolving your listing strategies!

Hi, thanks for the detailed post with links. My question is what happens to a products ranking during that 48 hour period during which it isn't active? The products I need to update are top ranked products in a very competitive field. If you lose your ranking due to unavailability, others will take your place and perhaps your search ranking quickly follows?
