INSANE! Use Amazon Buy Shipping program UPS extra CHARGE $1000

Guys! I need help…I am a small seller trying to make a living, I always use Amazon buy shipping program so I get protection against buyer INR claims when tracking shows delivered. For 2 years I been on business, I see UPS sometimes do adjustment in a reasonable rate, such like reroute package due to wrong address that BUYER provides so getting me extra money while they audited box dimension and weight is EXACT same thing that I put. However, this one is CRAZY!!! I got extra charged $1000 on a 2lb package , selling for $44.99 , the box that I have using for years, 24x6x6, they audited out 66.0 X 11.0 X 42.0, but still, 2 lbs!!! This is INSANE!!! I know there will be dead end contacting UPS because I have tried that before, UPS would say this is Amazon’s UPS account, not mine, they will not run investigation. When I contact Amazon, Amazon kicks the ball back to UPS, ask me to call UPS, can Amazon representative please help? THIS IS INSANE! This is not $10 extra, it is $1000 extra!!!

UPS has announced their rates are going up this holiday season, as well as charging fuel costs per delivery. With that large of a jump in shipping, is Amazon telling you NOT to buy shipping thru them. Sounds like a tactic Amazon would use. :train2:

your package was probably setting on top of a much larger package when it was scanned going down the rollers. you need to defend your package dimensions to the UPS bill

This post by oldtimer is for filing a lost claim but it may be able to be adapted to file the claim. A starting point at least then not sure how you would actually get credited back.

Someone has not looked up current container pricing. (humor) Can’t even get containers on a crane for 1000$, let alone out of a port.

I agree the over max charge is insane. We have dealt with this problem a few times in the past, but we used our own shipper account, which is linked to Buy Shipping. The truth is this particular item we ship is heavy and bulky, its length+girth is very close to 165 inches. So every so often it gets caught by a scan. Each time we had to contact our UPS account representative with shipment detail, then she would contact UPS billing and ask to have our account credited. So far it has worked every single time. If I were you, I’d try to connect with a UPS account representative, yours or someone else’s.

you can call ups and give them amazons shipper account number, they can tell you how to get it off of your tracking label and most representatives can fix this for you.

There have been numerous posts of other sellers who have gone through this, and many were over $10,000 and none of them were able to get any help from Amazon, tried for months going back and forth between Amazon and UPS but was never resolved. I am afraid you are fighting a loosing battle. You can search the forums for other cases and maybe you get lucky but I wouldn’t hold my breath. Get your own UPS account linked in with Amazon so this doesn’t happen again. I am really sorry, it is very unfortunate.

I was wondering if you drop off the package at the local UPS hub? Whenever I go in they weigh the package at the counter and give me a receipt. Also, I always see the same employee that weighs the packages. If you did drop it off, maybe talk to the person (employee) who received and weighed the package? Maybe they could help?
