Send to Amazon will replace Send/replenish inventory on September 1
On September 1, 2022, Send to Amazon will replace the Send/replenish inventory workflow as part of our ongoing efforts to make shipment creation simpler and more flexible.
Important dates
- August 31 is the last day on which you can create shipments using Send/replenish inventory.
- Starting September 1, the old workflow will no longer be available. All new FBA shipments must be created either in Send to Amazon or with the Amazon Marketplace Web Service API or Selling Partner API.
Send to Amazon features
Thousands of FBA sellers already use Send to Amazon, our streamlined shipment-creation workflow. The updated workflow lets you do the following:
- Create shipments with simplified steps that include training videos.
- Create reusable case-pack templates to save box-level information and prep and labeling details when you use the same configuration for single-SKU boxes. With these templates, you can avoid re-entering the details each time that you replenish inventory.
- Add both single-SKU and mixed-SKU boxes to the same workflow.
- Pack your boxes in advance or just in time when you’re ready to ship.
Starting today, when you create shipments from Manage Inventory, Manage FBA Inventory, or Restock Inventory, you’ll be directed to Send to Amazon automatically. You can also access Send to Amazon from your Shipping Queue. You can continue to access the old workflow for new shipment creation until August 31.
For more information, go to FBA shipment creation changes to Send to Amazon.

It is simple if you watch the training video. It says, this will “create less touch points”
Less touch points means less Amazon employees. With Amazon under pressure to unionize, they need to find ways to have less employees. So push this terrible Send to Amazon program off on sellers.

Is there anyway to add a SKU, and have both case packed and individual count for the same SKU?
For example, If I have 10 case pack boxes of 12 of SKU123 and also 1 box of 11. Can I put those both into the same shipment? It currently seems like for each SKU it needs to be either standardized case packs or individual units.
I just ran a test shipment with 90 skus and it took me almost 2 hours just to get the shipment in with made up data. If I actually had to pack all the boxes and put in all the relevant box sizes and weights it would have taken all day.

I wasn’t able to get any answers from this thread or the Ask Amazon event thread to the following question.
Moving forward, how will sellers use 2D box labels to efficiently manage FBA shipments?
It looks like we can continue using the 2D box labels as long as we’re creating/updating the shipments via Amazon MWS and API; but, why is this feature being removed from the workflow via the UI?

The packing list window does not show the fnsku. The download of the packing list shows the asin in the fnsku column, the fnsku in the upc code column.
Please keep both systems. The number of shipments with errors will go way up if you insist on STA only.

The announcement said we can use the old system until September 1st. I am no longer seeing that option. When I choose send/replenish inventory on the inventory management page, I’m automatically taken to the new system. I don’t see any option to use the old system at all. Can you please tell me how to navigate to the old system?

UPDATE- Still have no capability to build a full or stackable LTL pallet of oversize items without being randomly split.
55 days left till sellers stop sending in oversize products to FBA due to split LTL/SPD shipment costs.

A few questions/suggestions:
-
For the packing list, what order are the items in? It previously was by SKU but now I don’t see how they are listed and it’s more difficult to match.
-
I saw an option today to MERGE workflows. Not sure how that would work, but it allowed it for single items LTL.
-
I planned a shipment with several SKUs into 2 boxes and split them evenly in case they went to different locations. Turns out they went to the same destination so it was a waste of time.

I’ve used the new workflow with 0 issues now.
-
Have people who sell in the oversize tier been able to resolve split shipments? I remember last year we were getting shipments sent to FC’s on the other side of the planet even though all SKUs were standard size tiers

Still hoping for a solution regarding sending in multiple expiration dates of 1 SKU.
@AmzSeller123321 Did @Kelly_Amazon provide an update on this in your PMs?
Of course theoretically we can create 1 SKU per manufacturing LOT but in our case we constantly have products coming in with production dates just a few days apart. It’s just not practical to create an SKU for merely 24 units when they would sell out in a week, not to mention how painful it would be if we have to add 10 SKUs per ASIN to our inventory each month when we carry hundreds of ASINs…and our stranded inventories will be out of control.
Currently, we manage our inventories with SKUs ending with year+q1/q2/q3/q4 that way we can ensure the old stock sells out first, and at the same time reduce the risk of Amazon finding years-old misplaced units and putting them back with the new ones, or if anything happens that requires the products to be recalled it would cost less to do so than not separating them at all.
Someone please fill me up if I missed any updates that this has been solved.
