Anyone stop using Amazon buy shipping due to Adjustments?

Anyone stop using Amazon buy shipping due to them letting adjustments go through from USPS when the package and weight are the same?

Would switching to shipstation or another program fix this issue as they would not be able to come back

and see what you used or did. And it would be out of Amazons shipping program.

I would NOT stop using Amazon Buy Shipping over adjustments.

For me, the benefits of Buy Shipping outweigh nearly any reasonable additional cost or occasional adjustment.

You are not simply buying a postage label. You are buying the protections that come with purchasing shipping through Amazon.

That can matter enormously when dealing with delivery disputes, A-to-z claims, Valid Tracking Rate, late deliveries and other shipping-related account issues.

Could you occasionally save money buying labels elsewhere? Absolutely.

But I look at the small difference in shipping cost or occasional adjustment as insurance. One protected claim, especially on an expensive order, can easily outweigh months of small savings elsewhere.

If USPS is repeatedly making incorrect adjustments, I would document the packages, weights and dimensions and dispute those adjustments where appropriate. I would also make absolutely sure your dimensions and weights are accurate, including packaging.

But I would not give up Amazon Buy Shipping protection to solve a postage-adjustment problem.

For us, Buy Shipping is simply part of the cost of doing business on Amazon. The account protection is worth far more than squeezing every last dollar out of postage.

And Worse, Amazon saying that our pricing now is an "estimate" of charges... so they can just bill us whatever they want whenever they want for the shipping. I've been selling here for 8 years, and in that time I can count on ONE HAND how many adjustments I've gotten total mostly my mistakes when i put 4oz and it was 4.1 or 4.2 at the post office. no big deal... However in the last month it's gotten out of hand. I'm over 20 adjustments in the last 30 days. Not for incorrect weights or dimensions... for INCORRECT PRICING to begin with. It's an API issue with Amazon and USPS. Amazon knows it's a problem, thats why they've changed this language to an "estimate". Amazon quoting $5.48 when the package should be $7.30 with USPS is CRAZY. i've now gotten adjustments in the last month as far back as APRIL. How is that even legal at this point? The April one was for a 3.2oz package. I have the receipts. It was billed at $5.48 and I got retro charged $7.30. for BEFORE the USPS implemented this stupid 15oz one price garbage for ALL packages. I pulled the receipt. 3.2oz. it was a 9x12 envelope. Can I fight it? Nope. 1. it's outside of 60 days even though I JUST got the adjustment, and 2. Amazon will NEVER give you the APV Code you need to dispute a charge. What I did in July was raise all my prices. Has it helped? Nope. 20 Adjustments in the last 30 days say nope.

How do you find adjustments?? Do you know what transaction type they are classified as? Thanks in advance.

Yes, there is something seriously wrong and we are starting to move shipping elsewhere. But the problem also impacts returns where Amazon is purchasing the postage.

For example: return of order 111-0079037-8365826

Original postage cost $5.97

Adjustment: $8.40 with extra payment of $2.43

The shipping services purchased for the package did not match the carrier-reported charge for shipping the package:

Customer Entered Dimensions: 9 X 6 X 1 IN

Weight: 0.25 LB

Carrier Audited Dimensions: 9 X 6 X 1 IN

Weight: 0.25 LB

So there is no discrepancy but we're still being "adjusted".

I just researched the adjustments for the post office also. They are billing me extra $2 for small packages which is making it almost not profitable on my small items.

Here is the kicker, their audited weight and box size is the same as my entered details. We really need to push back on them from scamming us by disputing these details. How do we do this?

Our direct store uses a ShipStation integration to buy UPS and USPS labels, and we constantly get carrier adjustments (chargebacks) even though we can document that our weights and measurements are correct.

So the problem probably has nothing to do with Amazon, and buying your labels from ShipStation almost certainly won't solve this issue.

My adjustments apply to ALL returned orders. USPS does not treat this as a discounted rate from Amazon, but rather as a standard, non-discounted rate—just as if the customer were shipping the package themselves through a post office.

I'd like to avoid this, but unfortunately, I work in the “Fashion” category, and I have to cover all the costs associated with returns, including adjustments, even when items are returned in the same plastic mailer they shipped in.
