Same ad spend, targeting remains same, have tweaked ads a bit, though sales are worst in 8 years... its amazon throttling those they don't like, what is happening? literally 24$ in sales the last week..... if this keeps up... we are toast, and it has NOT been a good run on amazon... we will be left with 100k in inventory. what a shame.

"we will be left with 100k in inventory."
And all those items can be sold elsewhere, potentially with lower fees and better seller protection.
Yes, sales stink right now. I'm using the time to add items to other sites and build out another website.
Down 35%+/- last year and down 26% YTD (it was only 25% yesterday!)
Look for alternatives or go to the corner bar and drown your sorrows...
Theories I've considered:1. Buyers are experiencing Amazon's customer service go down the drain, aren't getting their orders on time, having issues getting refund for returns.
2. (Moderation edit: removed content) junk is (and has been) flooding this marketplace - fraudulent sellers are running rampant.
3. A lot of buyers feel Prime is no longer worth the ever rising cost (I think it's up to $139 a year) and are cancelling their memberships since they are no longer recieving the same level of service they once got here.
4. The search function is horrendous, showing tons of sponsored listings that have nothing to do with your inputs.
There's about 10 more I can think of off the top of my head, either way, it's unfortunate to watch all this happen.
Sales in the toilet? Mine are doing just fine.
..of course, I do sell toilet paper.
I'm glad, because my sales in fact are NOT fine, lol.
January was my worst month in 3 years, and January and june are usually my biggest months of the year.
There's a little boycott going on, both in America and across the world.

I've mentioned this in previous posts regarding slow sales. I've been selling online for almost 30 years.
These are the consistent trends that I have noticed:
Anytime there is a holiday or major event, sales slow up about 1 week before unless the products that you are selling pertain to that holiday or event.
In the past week, we've had the Super Bowl, Major Winter Storms affecting many states, Valentines Day approaching and President's Day Approaching. Essentially 2 holidays, a major event and bad weather all within a week of each other.
Sales should start picking up after 2/17/25 and get stronger until the next event which (other than weather or an unprecedented disaster) should be Easter Sunday,
I have been following the trail for a long time. The interesting side of the matter is that the sudden decline experienced by many sellers here is also present in the European market. I don't think this is related to a global downturn or economy. I sense a situation such as sales limits or band reductions. AI has spoiled something for us.
We have been on here for about 10 years. For the past 3 years our mean daily sales were 98 units. For the past 5 months our new mean is 81 units. We don't advertise and are in a niche market. Seems a lot more Chinese sellers selling similar products below our costs.
WASHINGTON, Feb 14 (Reuters) - U.S. retail sales dropped by the most in nearly two years in January, likely weighed down by frigid temperatures, wildfires and motor vehicle shortages, suggesting a sharp slowdown in economic growth early in the first quarter.
But the larger-than-expected and across the board decline in retail sales reported by the Commerce Department on Friday probably does not reflect a material shift in consumer spending as it also followed four straight months of hefty increases. -- extracted from Reuters --
